Malaysian HTF Delegation Visits Heilongjiang Vocational College of Tourism

Jointly hosted by the Heilongjiang Vocational College of Tourism (hereinafter referred to as "HVCT") and the Harbin Daowai District Baroque Chamber of Commerce, the event titled "Vocational Education Skills Exhibition and Exchange Activities" was held at the Chinese Baroque Historical Cultural Preservation Areas. The event brought together government representatives, educational circles, and cultural tourism personnel from both Malaysia and China to jointly engage in exchanges surrounding topics such as vocational education, cultural tourism, and international cooperation.

The Malaysian representatives attending the event were led by YB Loh Sze Yee, Perak State Executive Councilor for Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development, and accompanied by David Tiang, Special Function Officer to Minister of Housing and Local Government of Malaysia; Tan Boon Siang, Head of the Secretariat for New Village Development; Natalie Chan, President of the Malaysia-China Culture & Tourism Association; as well as exhibitors from the Malaysia Pavilion at the Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair.

They engaged in a cross-sector dialogue between government, institution, and enterprise with Chinese representatives, including Luo Ying, President of HVCT; Wang Li, Vice President of HVCT; and Zhao Zhenguo, President of the Harbin Daowai District Baroque Chamber of Commerce.

This year, Malaysia was invited to serve as the Guest of Honor at the 35th Harbin International Economic and Trade Fair(hereinafter referred to as the "HTF"), and the Malaysia-China Culture & Tourism Association organized a delegation of more than 200 government and corporate representatives to attend the grand event together.

President Luo Ying expressed that meeting and exchanging with the Malaysian delegation by riding on the momentum of the HTF was highly valuable. She hoped to further expand cooperation opportunities with various sectors in Malaysia, including curriculum development, faculty and student exchange visits, joint research, and mutual recognition of skill standards, to fully promote the integrated development of vocational education and the cultural tourism industry.

YB Loh Sze Yee pointed out that Malaysia and Heilongjiang possess broad cooperation prospects in fields such as cultural tourism, vocational education, and industrial development. He hoped that both sides could take this exchange as an opportunity to strengthen interaction and cooperation at the local level, promote deeper alignment in the fields of education, tourism, and economy and trade, and explore mutually beneficial development opportunities.

Following the exchange activity, the Malaysian delegation observed skills demonstrations and cultural experience programs presented by the faculty and students of HVCT, including Chinese calligraphy, intangible cultural heritage paper-cutting, tea art presentation, napkin folding, traditional clothing display, and creative nail art. The members of the delegation actively interacted with the faculty and students, personally experiencing the achievements of the integrated development of excellent traditional Chinese culture and vocational education, and feeling the charm of the Longjiang craftsmanship spirit and traditional Chinese culture.

As the organizing and coordinating unit of the Malaysian delegation this time, the Malaysia-China Culture & Tourism Association will continue to closely align with the government's footsteps in the future, give full play to its role as a bridge and bond, and actively connect resources among the governments, academic institutions, and civic organizations of both countries. Taking this trip to Heilongjiang as a new starting point, the Association will fully follow up on and implement the cooperation blueprints conceived by both parties in various aspects, turning the consensus reached during the HTF into substantive cooperative achievements. It will join hands with Malaysian enterprises and institutions across all sectors to build a broader and more efficient platform for cross-border integration for youth exchanges and industrial matchmaking between the two regions.
